Our Gallery mascot, Gigi, a “Bichon-Frise”

Exotic Fine Art, Carmel, CA

The AKC Dog Show in 2001 in N. Y. introduced us to a Breed we were not aware of: “Bichon-Frise.”

After witnessing the incredible traits of this Bichon that took best of all breeds we had to have one. Our female “Gigi” was obtained from a breeder in Fresno, CA she was 7 weeks old and in one week it was potty trained. At three months, after all her shots, she went to puppy school. From the beginning her instincts and incredible ability showed that this was an unusual dog.

At our Exotic Fine Art Gallery, “Gigi” has her special chair and greets everyone with her happy smiling face. The tail starts to wag, inviting you to pet her, and to the amazement of everyone she wants to shake hands with each paw. Then she looks to me with a little whine; this means it is time to perform so she can get a puppy treat. First she sits on the floor, then she sits up with her little paws curled, then she stands up and dances right and left like a ballerina. Now she jumps up on her chair and sits up waiting for her puppy treat. “Gigi” has made many friends. Once you meet her, you will never forget her.

The heritage of the “Bichon-Frise” goes back to the days of Cleopatra, who had two of them. They were used for years in Europe entertaining on the streets as well as in the Circus.

Over the years we have had many Breeds, however none can compare with the Love, compassion, intelligence, and fabulous companionship she represents.
